Indie-mill is a paid opportunity for independent artists to take the reins in developing an idea for the Windmill audience. Pitch a concept, gather a team and use the full breadth of our company resources to develop and share your work (in an informal showing) with an audience.

Four teams of up to six artists will develop all-original concepts in an intensive, two-week creative residency.

Each artist will receive $1,500 per artist, per week, plus super.

Each team will receive a dedicated studio space (at Adelaide College of the Arts), an assigned Stage Manager, access to our Production Manager for tech support, access to our producing team for advice, as well as our Artistic Director for dramaturgical support, a small props and costume budget and a suite of marketing materials to support taking their idea to the next stage.

At the end of the two weeks (Monday 7 – Friday 18 July), Windmill will host an informal, invite-only showing to present the idea to an audience.

Applicants must be a South Australian resident and over 18+. Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, d/Deaf and disabled, First Nations/Blak, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ are strongly encouraged to apply.
