T Projects are inviting Expressions of Interest from First Nations artists to create two artworks which are to be integrated into the design of the wind mitigation shields and external paving for the new hospital:
- Four artworks will be represented through laser cut perforations on Corten steel wind mitigation screens located in the grounds around the hospital. Download the project brief here
- The design of a metallic inlay or inlays will be embedded into the external paving in the Arrivals Garden, which is the First Nations Smoking Ceremony location, the ‘Yarning Circle’. Download the project brief here
These artworks will likely be one of the early elements that patients, families, visitors, and staff notice on arrival at the hospital via pedestrian crossings. It is vital that this artwork be welcoming, inclusive, uplifting and complement the landscape design.
Overarching theme
The overarching theme for FHR is ‘Healing Country, Healing People’. Country encompasses all living things, the land, and the waters thus the health of Country is directly linked to the health of people living on it – healing Country, heals people.
How to apply
