We are looking to commission an evaluation process that will help us to understand the role that mentoring of young creatives based in a regional setting can play in supporting them to establish a career in the creative industries and how this may lead to the growth and strengthen the regional creative economy.

This evaluation aims to;

·      Review HORIZONS: Creative Industries Career Launchpad with quantitative and qualitative data

·     Gather evidence and share compelling stories of the impact of the project

·     Make the voices and opinions of the young creatives the loudest across the narrative of the report

·   Provide reflections on the HORIZONS model of delivery and how this can be refined for future mentoring programs

The evaluation report will be used to provide evidence of the outcomes of the HORIZONS mentoring program and as a supporting document for future funding bids to continue this program.

HORIZONS: Creative Industries Career Launchpad is a mentoring program for 75 young creatives, aged 16 – 27, based across regional NSW.  Across 2024 this cohort that represents the next generation of regional artists has been paired with one of 14 experienced regional practitioners to explore their career pathways.  The project is grounded in the belief that young creatives based in the regions can establish and grow a successful career in their chosen field.

The project will culminate in;

  •  A series of commissioned short films that distils the advice and learning from the young participants, which will be an enduring resource for aspiring young creatives
  • An event in each of the 15 regions that celebrates the achievements of the project and builds the local network of young creatives
