Council is especially interested in applicants who are passionate about Arts & Culture in Frankston City accompanied with relevant skills and from diverse backgrounds including:
- Strong Arts & Culture knowledge along with industry experience
- First Nations or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse individuals
- Members of the LGTBQIA2S+ community
- Young people
- Business, Financial and Legal Representation
- Community or Arts Leaders
The objectives of the Committee are to
- Develop, review and provide advice to Council regarding the strategic direction for arts, culture and events;
- Support and develop local artists and creatives;
- Promote arts experiences, performances, public art, major events including guiding destination attraction strategies that raise the profile of the City
- Seek and establish appropriate external funding opportunities for programs via government, philanthropic and sponsorship sources;
- Ensure a balanced provision of community service obligations and commercial imperatives;
- Provide high level advice to guide arts and culture capital investment outcomes;
- Monitor community feedback and changing trends regarding arts, culture and events.
