Creative brief
You may capture any aspect of Australia – everyday occurrences, fleeting moments, unusual places, intriguing characters, the diversity of cultures or subcultures, celebrations or rituals, natural or artificial environments.
This year, we have two age categories: 13 -17 years and over 18.
An outdoor exhibition in Circular Quay, Sydney will showcase the 30 finalists from July 2025. There’ll be 20 images selected from the over 18 age group and 10 entries from the 13 to 17 age group.
All 30 finalists will be paid a fee of $500 plus GST (if applicable).
Prizes
Australian Life prizes will be awarded for the most outstanding work in the exhibition. A distinguished panel of judges will select them in the following categories:
- over 18 – $10,000 grand prize
- under 18 – $2,000 prize and one OM System camera pack worth $2,499
People’s choice award
Everyone can vote for their favourite during the exhibition. Voting opens 9am on Thursday 24 July and closes 11.59pm on Sunday 10 August.
The photographer who receives the most votes will receive one OM System camera pack worth $5,398.
Who can enter?
All Australian residents and permanent citizens aged 13 and above.
You don’t have to be a professional photographer. Amateur photographers are welcome.
