Emerging Artist Grants
Applications are now open for the Emerging Artist Grants program, Funding Round 1, 2025.
Grants of up to $15,000 will support emerging artists working across the spectrum of the arts in their pursuit of professional development opportunities.
This Funding Round awards grants for travel/projects commencing after 10 April 2025.
- Applications open: Tuesday 12 November 2024
- Applications close: Tuesday 14 January, 5PM AEDT
- Grants announced: Early April 2025

Who can apply
Individual emerging and early-career artists across Australia, practising in all art forms and disciplines. The Trust supports artists working across traditional art forms and experimental mediums, from visual arts to community radio and design to literature.
- Grants are only available to Australian citizens or Permanent Residents of Australia.
- Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age when they apply.
What we support
Structured professional development and networking opportunities, usually overseas. Such as:
- Residencies
- Mentorships
- Study tours that have a clear skills development focus
- Masterclasses and private lessons
- Internships
- Conferences and workshops
The Trust may also consider supporting postgraduate study focusing on professional development and artistic practice where no equivalent exists in Australia.
Please note that projects for which the sole purpose is an exhibition, performance, or the making of a work (such as a recording or publication) are ineligible.
