This free two-day program offers an exciting opportunity for participants to engage with emerging technologies, delve into the intricacies of inter-disciplinary collaboration, and understand the nuances of data ethics, audience engagement and innovative funding strategies. It’s a space to forge meaningful connections with fellow artists and industry leaders shaping the future of digital and immersive art.
A full schedule will be released soon, but we are excited to share a preview of the presenters, including:
- Kathryn Gledhill-Tucker (WA), a renowned Nyungar writer and technologist who explores the societal implications of data management and surveillance within the artistic realm.
- Kartini Ludwig (NSW), a producer and digital strategist who will showcase her recent work with generative AI in live performance and share practical approaches to integrating AI into creative projects.
- JC (WA), an interdisciplinary artist and current artist in residence at PICA who will highlight the importance of collaboration in their work with queer communities, artists and technicians and how this shapes their use of new technologies.
- Byron J. Scullin (VIC), an artist and sound engineer who will offer a practical demonstration of immersive sound technologies as used in large-scale public art installations.
- Helen Simondson (WA), Manager of WA Museum Boola Bardip and founder of ACMI X in Melbourne who will share invaluable strategies for diversifying income in interdisciplinary art-tech ventures.
- Natalie Marinho (WA), Director of Voyant AR who will present a compelling case study of a recent work made with Worimi artist Dean Cross that unravels the art of narrative design and mixed reality storytelling.
- Lucie Paterson (VIC), is Head of Experience, Digital & Insights at ACMI in Melbourne and will provide insights into user experience and design considerations for presenting and communicating immersive artworks and what audiences expect from this kind of engagement.

Eligibility
- This program is offered free to Western Australian residents only.
- Artists, technologists, developers, designers and programmers interested in inter-disciplinary collaboration are encouraged to apply.
- There will be space for up to 40 participants to attend the two-day weekend.
- Travel bursaries will be available for a selection of artists living in regional or remote WA.
