Powerhouse welcomes submissions from both emerging and established photographers working across all fields of practice. Applications are sought from photographers with experience producing architectural photographs and/or lens-based architectural projects with a focus on construction, urban development, housing, infrastructure and sustainability.

The successful applicant will be engaged to develop and deliver the commission in collaboration with Powerhouse. It is anticipated that the commission will be produced over a period of up to 12 months. The terms of the commitment will be flexible to accommodate the photographer’s continued professional practice.

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should demonstrate they can undertake a major commission from concept to delivery.

The EOI application must include: 

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • 5–6 examples of photographic work. 
  • Statement of interest (up to 500 words) answering the following questions:
    • What type of architectural photography or lens-based project would you like to collaborate on with Powerhouse?
    • How will your unique approach bring a new perspective to Australian architecture and the built environment?

ELIGIBILITY: Must be an Australian citizen or resident.

FUNDING: Successful applicants will receive $20,000  for the delivery of the commission.

ACQUISITION: Powerhouse may acquire commissioned works for an additional acquisition fee outside of the initial project funding.
