Blind and visually impaired children were invited to meet the equine stars of Cavalia.

Created by Normand Latourelle, co-founder of Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia is a multi-media, multi-discipline production that combines international aerialists, dancers, acrobats and musicians with a large team of trained horses.

In between curtains, Cavalia has been inviting blind and visually impaired children on interactive sensory tours with the help of Vision Australia. The children involved have been able to touch, groom, feed the horses, feel their heartbeats and listen to them run; and experience firsthand the profound relationship between horse and human.

Watch the video report of the Cavalia blind touch tour below.

Cavalia will be in Melbourne Docklands until 15 September, Adelaide from 02-27 October and Perth from 04-29 December. Visit the website for more details.
