Always quick to adapt and change in response to the evolving media industry, the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) will be offering a range of exclusive new courses in 2015.
As an institution regarded as one of the top twenty film school’s in the world, Australia’s national screen arts and broadcast school offers unrivaled opportunities for its students to network with industry, offering a range of face-to-face and online courses.
With an immense talent pool, AFTRS graduates having gone on to have successful careers within the media industries. Most recently past digital media graduate Patrick Clair was awarded a Creative Arts Emmy for the title sequence he created for drama series True Detective, while four of AFTRS graduates films have won Academy Awards as well as several graduates films being featured at prestigious film festivals Cannes, Berlinale and Sundance.
With over forty years experience educating in the specialist areas of film, television and radio, evolving to the ever-shifting industry AFTRS will offer a new three-year Bachelor of Arts in Screen degree in 2015. Regarded as one of the most in-depth and creatively comprehensive screen degrees on offer anywhere in the world, the degree is designed to prepare Australia’s next generation of creative practitioners to become leaders in their respective fields.
The Bachelor of Screen Arts course has been intentionally designed to develop vital skills useful in post-tertiary studies. CEO of AFTRS Sandra Levy said the degree will give students a deeply engaging learning experience.
‘The BA in Screen is all about critical thinking, creative engagement and preparing those with the best minds to be future creative leaders in their fields,’ said Levy.
Additionally new diplomas and advanced diplomas will be offered in 2015, specifically designed towards consolidating technical skills in the specialist areas of producing , screen music, screenwriting, music scoring, editing and camera. While specialist courses in areas such as directing and sound will be offered for semester two.
