PICA announces Schenberg Art Prize winner

The Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) has announced Lachlan Petras as the 2012 winner of the $35,000 Dr Harold Schenberg Art Prize. The prize was awarded for his work Aggregate, a video projection onto a concave sculptural object made up of over 300 plywood facets.

PICA is one of Australia’s leading centres for the development and presentation of contemporary art and is recognised as an icon of contemporary thinking. It boasts a year-round schedule of exhibitions, performances, screenings, studios and publications that seek to promote contemporary artistic programs for a diverse audience.
