Jonathan Bielski has been announced as the new Artistic Director of Auckland Arts Festival. He replaces the current Artistic Director, Carla van Zon, who will retire following her next Festival in March 2017.
Auckland Arts Festival Trust Chair John Judge paid tribute to van Zon, saying she had made an enormous contribution since commencing in her role in 2011, in particular by reaching wider and more diverse audiences, and through her commitment to developing New Zealand work.
