Mossgreen held its first mixed vendor sale on 24 June in its new rooms in Armadale. The results proved it will be a force in this competitive sector of the auction market.

Topping the sale was the “trophy work” Arthur Streeton’s Ariadne (1985) which sold for $510,000 (IBP) doubling its pre-sale estimate of $200,000 – 300,000. The painting contributed to almost a quarter of the overall sale takings, which came in at a total of $2.11 million.
