New York-based Lydia Davis, noted for her short stories – some just one sentence long – has been awarded the fifth Man Booker International Prize 2013 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Davis, ground-breaking for her invention and brevity in short-story writing, has won the esteemed award ahead of nine other contenders from around the world and is the Prize’s third successive winner from North America.
