Simon Abrahams is a festival director, creative producer, and arts consultant. His artistic practice is driven by a fascination with the intersection between art and citizenship. Simon’s creative work frequently investigates the democratic myths of equality, participation and inclusion, the consequences of decision making and the power of the privileged. He values critical thinking, fearlessness and adventurousness, playfulness, flexibility and resourcefulness in order to make seemingly impossible things happen.

Abrahams is presently the Creative Director & CEO of Melbourne Fringe; he has previously held the position of Head of Programming at the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas, Executive Producer and co-CEO of Polyglot Theatre, and Artistic Development Program Manager at Arts Centre Melbourne. He is also a performer, freelance facilitator, guest speaker, peer assessor and arts consultant.

In our latest Inspire60 video, Abrahams talks about artistic democratisation and the way art can change the world around us.
