Cartoonist Bill Leak dies aged 61

A veteran cartoonist and a fierce advocate for free speech, Leak will be missed from the hallowed halls of Parliament to our nation's leading art galleries.

Editorial cartoonist for The Australian, Bill Leak died last night after a suspected heart attack.

The news has seen a flood of tributes on social media for Leak’s unwaivering commitment to free speech and Australian values, in particular were comments from politicians and public figures who were often the target of his wit.
