Architects working outside firms earn more

According to a recent report on Australia’s creative sector, architects working independently earn more than those in firms.

The Valuing Australia’s Creative Industries report, which we covered more extensively here, found that architects working outside of practices earn more, and that more of them are leaving firms. 

The report analysed three different types of creative industry worker: ‘specialist creative’ (those working in creative professions within the creative industries); ’embedded creative’ (those who are creatively occupied but work outside the creative industries); and ‘support workers’ (those who are not creatively occupied but who work in the creative sectors.
