‘Is Aboriginal art only accepted in the western canon when it suits a capitalist agenda?’
This is a question Kimberley Moulton asked in her essay that accompanied the exhibition Sovereignty curated by Paola Balla. Urban planner Timmah Ball repeated it at a recent panel on Blak design, presented by the Koorie Heritage Trust with Indigenous Architecture and Design Victoria (IADV) as part of Melbourne Design Week.
