When Danni Zuvela, the curator of Liquid Architecture’s Why Listen to Plants? program was a child, she remembers an unforgettable experience watching television which has subsequently informed the way she relates to the plant kingdom.
‘I have this really strong memory as a child of watching a documentary with my family that showed grass screaming as it was being cut and leaves and plants having this awareness. I was so affected by it that I refused to walk on the lawn in our yard and I was distraught at the sight of the lettuce on the dinner table,’ Zuvela recalls.
