Born from a conversation with Ngalia elders in Leonora (WA), Reclaim the Void has been gaining traction nationwide to gather thousands of rag-rugs into a tremendous artwork that will cover one of the gaping mining holes on Country.
Reclaim the Void took off with the idea to seal one of those holes with a pattern that tells the story of Country and its people.
Rug contributions from all over the country and even overseas have been filing in since mid-2021, but it might take another two years to gather enough rugs to cover a single mining hole.
