Despite rainy weather the Sydney Writers Festival finished up last Sunday smashing the previous box office taking record. Although attendance numbers are still to be released they are expected to be similar to previous years at around 80,000. Final numbers won’t be known till mid next week when results from the various satellite box offices come in.

Yet again, it makes Sydney’s festival look to be out in front of other writers’ festival in the Australia. Are Sydneysiders really the most literary people in the country?
