Playwriting makes the imagination manifest, but are our playwrights being as creative with their careers as they are with their work?
Later this month the Adelaide Festival Centre will host the National Play Festival, presented by Playwriting Australia and attended by 50 to 60 playwrights from across the country. As well as a formal program of masterclasses, workshops, play readings, forums and the keynote address by Joanna Murray Smith, the Festival will inevitably – like any industry event – feature many late-night conversations and casual networking opportunities where playwrights discus the intricacies and challenges of their craft.
