Discussions have commenced in the past week between the directors of the Tasmanian, Victorian, New South Wales and South Australian writers’ centres along with consultant Hal Judge for the development of a new national organisation to be known as Writing Australia.

Writing Australia was an initiative proposed at the November 2009 meeting of the Australia Council’s Literature Board for state and territory writers centres to work together to form a new national service organisation, or network, for writers.
