No pathway for disabled actors

If a casting director needs to cast an able-bodied actor to play a disabled character much of the blame lies with drama schools.

Unless people with a disability are included in writers’ rooms and actively sought out by drama schools, Australia’s film, television and theatre sectors will continue to struggle when it comes to representations of diversity, this week’s Equity Summit has heard.
