Massacre remembered through exhibition and promised museum

Labor pledges $3 million for permanent museum to commemorate Myall Creek Aboriginal massacre, as major exhibition opens in Armidale to mark 180th anniversary.

NSW Labor this week announced that it would commit $3 million to the construction of a permanent museum marking the 1838 Myall Creek Massacre, on the outskirts of regional Armidale, should it be elected in March 2019.

The announcement comes in the same week that the exhibition curated by Bianca Beetson, Myall Creek and beyond, opens at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM).
