Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) readers are borrowing more books from local authors, the 2020 Civica Libraries Index has revealed, with over half of the books borrowed across the ANZ written by Australian authors.
The Civica Libraries Index is compiled using loan data from participating libraries, and incorporates over 30 million library book loans across the calendar year, between the 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020.
