Wouldn’t it be great to have a film festival which caters to children? What would be even better is if some of the films submitted for the festival were created by children. With this in mind, Little Big Shots Film festival was conceived in 2004 by Nick Place; a father who wished to expose his kids to films geared for their age group, about children and created by them.
Seven years later, Little Big Shots has flourished into a Melbourne favourite amongst children and their parents. Launching in Melbourne, by screening fabulous films from around the world at the ACMI Cinemas (Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square) and with activities such as stop action animation classes at ArtPlay (Birrarung Marr), which fill up as soon as they are available to sign up for.
