Imagining the future of Indigenous performing arts

More First Nations arts workers, decolonising performance modes, and addressing the Intervention were among the topics floated at a recent panel discussion.

In light of a recent report by the Australia Council for the Arts which found that only 2% of the 6000 works programmed by presenters in 2015 was by or about Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island peoples – and that two thirds of presenters did not program any Indigenous works at all – a panel discussion hosted by Arts Centre Melbourne sought to imagine how things might look in 10 years’ time.
