Collaboration and co-working are heralded as the key to prosperity in the ‘creative economy’ with dozens of creative hubs, incubators, and spaces populating suburbs across the country to stimulate connection and ideas.
The latest to join the growing number of spaces is a co-working incubator for the creative industries, ACMI X – the first collaborative working space set up by a major cultural institution in Australia.
‘This is a trend that is worldwide – it’s going through education, it’s going through industry, and the arts could be at the forefront of that right now,’ said ACMI Director and CEO, Katrina Sedgwick of the trend towards interdisciplinary and collaborative spaces.
