Often arts organisations know there are things going wrong on the business side of what they do but everyone is so caught up in day-to-day operations necessary changes don’t get made. There are some simple things that an organization can do however, to make things better.

1. Review your business

Engaging a consultant or a business adviser through the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research’s Creative Industries Innovation Centre (CIIC) to assist with a business review can be vital as an impetus for improving how an arts organization functions. It may not provide any major surprises but it does put down clearly on paper what a company needs to do from an independent perspective.
