Bangarra’s social message on belonging

Bangarra Dance Theatre is known for their distinctive fusing of traditional and contemporary movement into a new dance vocabulary. Their latest production Belong, similarly brings together the modern and the traditional through two contrasting works. About by choreographer and dancer Elma Kris, expresses traditional indigenous culture’s observation and understanding of the environment. It is then followed by ID choreographed by Artistic Director Stephen Page, which scrutinizes the modern context and meaning of aboriginal identity.
