What’s it like to be a mentor and a mentee? Sandra Carluccio (Brisbane, QLD) & Steve Bull from PVI Collective (Perth, WA) shed some light on the JUMP mentorships, the Australia Council’s national mentoring program for young and emerging artists.

Sandra says:

I was in the UK doing an internship with internationally renowned artist group Blast Theory last year when I ran into Perth-based comedian and JUMP 2011 artist Bonnie Davies. We got into talking and I mentioned that I was considering applying for JUMP and approaching this company called PVI Collective in Perth to support me as part of my mentorship. I admire the risk in PVI’s work and how much the audience are involved. Their performance intervention work makes such an impact on the urban landscape in a social, political, and imaginative context, which makes everyday life just that little bit more interesting for participants and public spectators.
