Having an employment plan is a great way to keep you on track during the job seeking process. An employment plan should dictate a number of steps for you to undertake while you search for suitable employment, and a clear time frame for you to follow.

Employment plans are often used by government agencies such as Job Seekers Australia as a way of helping job seekers focused on the task at hand. They suggest that your employment plan should set out the services and training that will help you find a job and should dictate all the skills, training and interests that you already have. So while information about your past education and employment should go into the plan, your employment goals, aims and areas for improvement should also be included.
