From putting puppets at the centre as seen in Royal de Luxe’s spellbinding The Giants at this year’s Perth Festival and productions by companies such as Spare Parts, Polyglot, Terrapin and more, to partial puppet productions, puppetry has enormous scope.

Associate Director of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Michael Barlow told ArtsHub, ‘We have to constantly subvert and expand the expectations of what puppetry can be but we also have to maintain the core of puppetry. This isn’t really any different from any other artistic form, we’re all reaching for the new while sustaining our foundations.’
