Led by internationally recognised scholar, researcher and music educator, Dr Anita Collins, a new report titled, Music Education: A Sound Investment draws on a growing body of neuroscientific and psychological research testifying to the educational and developmental benefits of quality music education in primary school.
Commissioned in 2019 by Australian music company Alberts’ philanthropic arm – The Tony Foundation – the report highlights the large proportion of Australian primary school children who have limited or no access to quality music education and a significant variation in the quality of the learning that children receive.
