$1.46 billion allocated for Arts Precinct transformation in VIC Budget 2020-21

The total investment for arts and cultural development in 2020-2021 is a record $1.68 billion.

In the words of Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas MP, the 2020-21 budget is ‘built on jobs and it’s focused on people.’

For the arts sector, it also has a strong focus on infrastructure projects, including the first phase of development of NGV Contemporary (creating an estimated 5,000 jobs in construction) and upgrades to regional arts institutions in the likes of Benalla, Castlemaine, Shepparton and the Latrobe Valley.
