We seek an experienced Technical Manager to join our dedicated Technical and Production team, and play a key role to coordinate and implement the technical requirements/elements in the end-to-end production development and mounting process, particularly, visual, lighting and/or audio elements.
This role is suited to someone who is highly motivated, is able to manage the requirements of a diverse operational environment and who enjoys being involved in theatre making and the arts.
Role snapshot
The Technical Manager is a member of the Technical and Production team that facilitates and coordinates all production, technical and design (stage, costume, lighting sound, AV etc) elements necessary for staging theatrical performances.
The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the production and technical requirements/elements of Queensland Theatre productions are in place. In doing so, the Technical Manager works with the Technical and Production team and production creative and design personnel to coordinate and implement the technical production elements (eg lighting, sound, AV, special effects, etc) required in the end-to-end theatre production development process.
The role requires a high level of knowledge of technical elements and processes, attention to detail, an ability to apply problem-solving skills, and the ability to work to critical timelines and parameters.
This is a full-time position. It requires flexibility given the nature of the position, production schedules and operational demands, including some additional hours at performances/season productions and, from time to time, some weekends, to fulfill the requirements of the role.
