Senior Architect

Medium-sized architectural practice is seeking a talented Project Lead / Registered Architect to take charge of various projects, including health, laboratory, and commercial developments. This role involves comprehensive project management, from concept to completion, with a strong focus on business development, client engagement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the New South Wales architectural landscape, a deep understanding of the NCC and Australian Standards, and proficiency in Revit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects of varying scales, ensuring successful delivery from design through to completion.
  • Manage and nurture client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand the firm’s portfolio.
  • Mentor and develop junior architects and team members.
  • Conduct on-site measurements, including advanced lidar scanning techniques.
  • Create and refine concept drawings, Revit models, and detailed return briefs.
  • Coordinate with engineers and services consultants to ensure project alignment with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings, site inspections, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project documentation that complies with all relevant codes and legislation.
  • Oversee contract administration and provide construction phase assistance as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Architect (or nearing completion of registration)
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-degree experience in New South Wales.
  • Proven track record of leading projects.
  • 5 years of local project leadership experience.
  • Experienced with Revit, a minimum of 5 years Revit experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage medium-scale projects independently.
  • Strong understanding of the BCA, NCC, and Australian Standards.
  • Experience in construction documentation and administration for complex projects such as commercial, health, or laboratory buildings.
