About Michael Reid Northern Beaches Michael Reid Northern Beaches is part of Michael Reid Galleries, the leading Australian networks of commercial art galleries. The gallery showcases a dynamic range of artists across painting, photography, sculpture and ceramics.

Role Overview The Sales Associate is a direct support role for the Northern Beaches Gallery Manager, Sophie Nolan. This role focuses on sales, client engagement, and the smooth operation of the gallery. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sales and an understanding of the visual art industry, particularly in a commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Client Engagement
• Promote and sell artists’ work through exhibitions, client engagement, online platforms, and networking.
• Gallery Operations & Administration
• Assist with the smooth running of the gallery and exhibition schedule.
• Maintain and update the client database, CRM (Salesforce), and EDMs.
• Catalogue stock and update gallery records (WordPress, Google Sheets).
• Gallery Maintenance & Presentation
• Handle artwork wrapping, storage, movement, and transportation.
• Ensure the gallery space is clean, organized, and well-presented.
• Assist with exhibition installations, including patching, painting, and hanging works.

Skills & Experience

• Strong sales ability and commercial awareness, with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Independent, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A practical and flexible approach to tasks, from exhibition planning to gallery upkeep.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Experience in the contemporary art industry or luxury sales is highly desirable.

Working Hours & Remuneration

• Hours: Three days per week, including Saturday.
• (9 AM – 5 PM) weekdays (10AM – 4PM) Saturdays
