Residential / Architectural Construction Drafter

This is a newly created and evolving role with one of Adelaide’s most experienced residential builders encompassing both Custom Home and Residential Development Projects.  It is a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects are efficiently planned, meet compliance and design objectives, and proceed smoothly from concept to completion.  The objective is to ensure accuracy, implement standardised documentation for construction sequencing and embrace methodologies that create efficiencies, and foster collaboration across all departments.

As a key contributor within a professional team, you will be involved in all facets of the design process from concept and design development, and provide support to Sales with technical enquiries during the concept stage. You will be responsible for full drawing sets, detail drafting, engineering, framing, specification documentation and researching building materials while staying up to date with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will review building specifications, coordinate amendments, and manage construction documentation throughout the Pre-Construction phase, detailing solutions that adapt working drawings to suit building methodology.

This position ideally suits Architectural and Residential Building Design Drafters with at least 5Years experience and proficiency in AutoCAD/ArchiCAD and knowledge of the Building Code of Australia design rules and regulations.  Suitable experience may have been acquired in drafting and design of custom architecturally designed residential buildings, building layout drafting, structural and timber framing drafting, within architectural and design studios or working with residential builders. Additional skills in Databuild or Cubit Estimating software and/or Sitebooks may also be well regarded.
