Project Producer

Community Arts Network (CAN) is seeking applications from prospective Project Coordinators/Producers to work on the Legacies project in Kalgoorlie in 2025. This opportunity is best suited to someone based in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area.

CAN will contract the project coordinator/producer to commence in March 2025 on a 9 month contract.

The following skills and experience is required:

  • experience working in complex community settings
  • a passion for community arts and cultural development
  • an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team
  • excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • experience managing stakeholder relationships
  • the flexibility to undertake regional travel and weekend work
  • a current driver’s licence

This project will engage directly with First Nations community so a high level of cross-cultural competence is essential. Priority will be given to suitably qualified applicants of First Nations background. 

ABOUT LEGACIES

Legacies, a multi-layered storytelling project, will celebrate the unique personal histories of trailblazing Elders from the Goldfields region, through the development of oral history recordings, a series of photographs and exhibition content showcased to their communities and beyond. Capturing and sharing stories of resilience and courage from ten Goldfields Elders, Legacies will build on the momentum of CAN’s Ngaluk Waangkiny exhibition tour to Kalgoorlie.

Interested applicants should provide a current CV and a two page EOI answering the following selection criteria:

  • Create a list of projects you have been directly involved in over the last 2 years. Provide a short description of each project and detail your involvement
  • How does your work history and personal approach align with CAN’s values?
  • Detail a complex project you have managed in a community setting and what relevant skills and expertise you applied?
  • What experience do you have working with First Nations and/or CaLD communities?
