Operations Manager

Exciting opportunity to join Bell Shakespeare, responsible for the oversight and management of our premises at Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.

The company is a national theatre company touring to theatres, schools and communities in every state and territory annually.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join the Company’s Operations team. The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of our premises at Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. This includes providing operational day to day support to ensure that the Company’s administrative and production premises run smoothly and to the highest standards, and that the Company’s systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. Working across all parts of the Company and managing the relationship with our external contractors, this role is a key part of the Operations team reporting to the Head of Production.

Who you are

The successful applicant will have an ability to work efficiently and logically, managing key contracts with all services and building providers; have sound knowledge and experience in the IT environment; and have strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office platform, SharePoint.

To be considered as a successful applicant we require

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrated professional industry experience
  • Experience in building and facilities management
  • Experience in working with contracted suppliers
  • Running day to day operations and resource management
  • High level computer skills, particularly using spreadsheets and online scheduling software
  • Experience with Office 365 suites (SharePoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Knowledge and experience in IT Management
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements in a production environment and prior experience producing WH&S documentation, including Risk Assessments and Safe Work Method Statements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work autonomously
  • Flexible attitude to duties, responsibilities and working hours within the skill set of the position
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to keep detailed written and electronic records
  • Must hold a current Driver’s Licence
  • Have a valid visa which includes the right to work in Australia
