The opportunity

Working within the Marketing and Fundraising team, reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager you will be responsible for designing and developing materials for a variety of purposes using a creative approach whilst adhering to the brand guidelines. Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud apps are essential as well as a strong knowledge of pre-press and production processing.

Based in Subiaco this position is part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed term until December 2025.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertaking a range of design, layout and artwork tasks using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Producing designs for Cancer Council WA that are consistent with branding guidelines.
  • Creating multiple creative concepts when requested.
  • Revising artwork based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Producing print-ready material.
  • Producing and/or edit quick videos in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Producing basic animation for digital platforms such as websites, eDM etc.
  • Capturing high quality photos when required.
  • Undertaking print management duties.
  • Maintaining quality control, check and approve proof.
  • Filing and archiving of design jobs.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in graphic design
  • Minimum 3 years graphic design experience
  • Sound understanding of print production
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • A strong customer focus with a creative approach and an eye for design aesthetic and attention to detail
  • Basic photography skills
  • Work unsupervised to achieve deadlines
  • Workflow management according to priorities
  • Understand and follow brand guidelines
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Positive approach to the workplace
