What are we truly looking for?

You’re a seasoned digital designer with a knack for transforming complex ideas into visually stunning and user-friendly designs. You have a portfolio that speaks volumes about your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to deliver exceptional digital experiences for marketing and product applications. You thrive in collaborative environments and are always up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies. If you’re passionate about pushing design boundaries and making an impact, we want you at Fastmail.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Design and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold our design principles and ensure brand consistency. We work in a hybrid style, and love working together in person so we you will be in the office 3 days a week. We are a highly successful business with small high-performing teams in Australia, America and India. This role is being offered as full-time, however 4 days per week will be considered for the right candidate.

Please note, at Fastmail we have implemented a transparent and fair pay framework where all equal and comparable roles across the business is paid the same. This role has a salary of $93,738.29 + super which is not negotiable.

  • A seasoned digital designer with a proven track record of creating impactful, high-quality ideas for marketing campaigns, digital projects, and online/web applications.
  • Skilled in transforming ideas into visually appealing and user-friendly designs for digital and print.
  • Able to demonstrate skills that will include product design initiatives as well as marketing and advertising.
  • Proficient in design tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Knowledgeable in user experience (UX) principles, interaction design, and responsive design.
  • A creative thinker who constantly explores new design trends and techniques to keep your work fresh and innovative.
  • An excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve design goals.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to producing polished, high-quality work.
  • Experienced in delivering design projects from concept to execution, ensuring they meet both creative and business objectives.
  • Passionate about contributing in a small, high-performance work environment where you are solely accountable for your own work (we don’t micro-manage here!)

Requirements

What level of qualifications and experience do you have?

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience, ideally with in-house graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating high-quality digital products.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, After Effects), and Figma.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of user experience (UX) principles, interaction design, web design principles and responsive design. Awareness of HTML/CSS also beneficial.
  • Creativity: Demonstrated ability to generate innovative marketing and design solutions for digital and print and think critically about design challenges.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail and commitment to delivering polished, high-quality work.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Undertake design projects from concept to execution, ensuring the final output meets high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Design intuitive and engaging high-quality visuals including responsive landing pages for marketing campaigns, social media content, email marketing, and printed promotional materials.
  • Apply UX principles and deliver design experiences that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional
  • Create prototypes and mock-ups to visualise design ideas and gather feedback from team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work within project timelines.
  • Partner with developers, marketers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into compelling visual designs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, applying new techniques and tools to keep our designs fresh and innovative.
  • Incorporate feedback from users, stakeholders, and peers to refine and enhance design solutions.
