Live Production and Theatre - Technical Support Officer

Wyndham City Council is looking for a full-time tech! Support theatre and events with lighting, audio and AV, in our dynamic Cultural Venues.

About the role

As a member of the Technical Services team, this position provides technical support to events and performances at all venues within the responsibilities of the Cultural Venues Unit. The Technical Support Officer actively assists in hirers, producers and performers by ensuring high-quality technical support for their events. Key responsibilities include skilled operation of venue systems, including but not limited to lighting, audio, audio visual, hybrid meetings, and fly systems, facilitating bump-ins and bump-outs, ensuring backstage areas are operational, and maintaining technical equipment to the highest standards.The role combines hands-on technical work with some administrative responsibilities, to support the smooth running of events, while upholding safety and compliance within the venues.

The role is full-time with hours rostered, depending on operational needs. After hours and weekend work is required due to the nature of events and performances. 

What you will bring

• Technical Theatre Qualifications (lighting & audio) equivalent to a trades certificate, Certificate III, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training as demonstrated by a candidate’s knowledge, skills and prior experience
• Experience working in the theatre or entertainment industry in backstage technical operations
• Desired qualifications: Elevated Working Platform (EWP), Dogging/Rigging License, First Aid
