An exciting opportunity has been presented for an experienced Interior Designer to join one of Australia’s leading Design and Construct organizations. Over the past 10 years, this team has completed several award-winning projects throughout the Asia-Pacific region, providing their bespoke services through a worldwide network offering tailored strategy, interior design, project management and construction delivery services.

About The Role

This role will allow you to gain hands-on experience and be surrounded by exceptional individuals of all levels. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of the entire process from concept to construction, collaborating ideas alongside designers, project managers, estimators and the procurement team to work together in harmony with support and guidance along the way.

As an experienced interior designer, you will be responsible for;

  • Key inputs within the design and documenting of interior spaces for both new and existing clients
  • Multitasking across various projects alongside the Sydney studio Lead Designer
  • Working alongside the design team and clients to drive and manage expectations and outcomes
  • Attending regular meetings with stakeholders and clients to discuss updates on the status of projects
  • Producing effective presentation and communication collateral
  • Working with the design team to collaborate on concept and spatial planning ideas
  • Working closely with the delivery team to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget

About You

As this is a design-led business, you must have a real passion for creativity and conceptual design. You are eager to learn and develop new skills while showcasing your current knowledge of the process. You will be capable of working on your own initiative, operating both autonomously and collaboratively as part of the wider Design and Delivery team. You will have a hands-on approach whilst instilling a “can do attitude” being both responsive and proactive.

To be a successful candidate, you must have;

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Interior Design degree or relevant qualification
  • Impeccable communication and relationship skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Confident and highly competent presentation abilities
  • Creative skills with an ability to conceptualise and communicate ideas effectively
  • Ability to work in fast paced, challenging and highly-rewarding environment
  • Proficiency in Revit software
  • Commercial workplace/office fit-out experience (desirable)
  • Ability to design within a budget and schedule projects from beginning to end
  • Appreciation/Experience in a Design and Construct business is beneficial – understanding Australian Building Codes
  • A personality that is collaborative, positive and ambitious!
