About the role:Saltwater Busselton is a multi-use arts and cultural venue, currently under construction in the heart of Busselton. The venue includes a 640 seat theatre, A-class art gallery and 400 capacity convention centre. We are seeking a dynamic and suitably experienced person to lead our technical team and ensure the flawless execution of events in this brand new state-of-the-art venue. 

The Head of Technical Services will encourage and support a culture of safety first, continuous improvement and customer service excellence within the Technical Services team. They will set up all back of house procedures and practices for the new venue and actively develop the skills and capabilities of staff, driving event efficiency and maintaining cost competitiveness for hirers.

The person:The successful applicant will align with our values and ideally have the following competencies:

  • A tertiary qualification in Theatre Technical Services or related field (or demonstrated equivalent competency)
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of technical staff.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of, and experience with Work Health and Safety procedures and reporting within the live events industry.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, network maintenance and a range of computing skills, including the use of AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A positive attitude and flexible approach to tasks.
  • Highly organised with an excellent eye for detail.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a National Police Clearance no more than six months old and a Construction White card.
