This well loved Accessories Group represents two strong brands in the market – with strong performing retail locations and a thriving online channel we are seeking a Head of Design to join the team – the ideal role for a Senior Designer looking to take that first step into Head of roles.

The Role |

The Head of Design is responsible for the design, development and production of bags, accessories, wallets, and small goods across all categories for both brands. Reporting to the co-CEO responsible for Merchandise, Visual Merchandising, Marketing and Retail Stores, the Head of Design will be the design lead for Leather and Vegan Leather Bags and Accessories in line with seasonal direction and brand identity for each brand. You will manage a team of 2 across design and production to bring quality and on-brand products to life. Your responsibilities will include:

• Create concepts for the brands and all product categories.
• Prepare design sketches and 3D mockups for collection development.
• Responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of product design, development, and production.
• Timeline creation and management for design, development, and production each season in line with the option plan.
• Responsible from conception up to delivery. Plan and execute projects with research, through design development, costings and into commercialization.
• Oversee and manage bulk production of goods from range confirmation, purchase order raising and communication to suppliers
• Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers and maintaining good business relationships with all vendors.
• Reviewing all prototypes/ samples and feedback to manufactures.
• Preparing the collections for photo shooting and attending photoshoots

The Skillset |

Minimum 4 years relevant experience, in Fashion and Retail as an Accessories Senior designer with a strong eye for creativity and style – need to be able to draw inspiration from past trends and see new possibilities for future innovations through market research and trend data.

• Skilled in vegan leather and leather products
• Experience mentoring and developing a team
• Excellent technical knowledge in leather goods construction.
• Excellent knowledge of leather, fabric, and nontraditional materials.
• Highly innovative, creative, and conceptual.
• Able to translate ideas into 2D concept drawings and 3D mockups.
• Strong capabilities In Adobe and Cad Programs.
• Strong familiarity with international manufacturing.
• Excellent in detail and presentation skills.
