About The Role!

The Graphic Designer advocates, promotes and represents the best interests of the Guild and its members, with particular focus on producing attractive and effective visual designs for Guild publications and communication materials in a broad range of print and digital formats, and undertaking desktop publishing tasks as required.

This role is a full-time, ongoing opportunity and is based at the Guild’s National Secretariat in Canberra.

The role responsibilities of the Graphic Designer include: 

  • Achieve attractive and professional graphic designs to help raise the profile of the Guild and Australian community pharmacy.
  • Achieve effective and consistent branding of the Guild, its programs and all of the organisation’s various services and activities as required.
  • Oversee graphic design work of the Marketing and Communications team
  • Create and maintain Guild visual guidelines and provide graphic design input for Guild branding strategies as they evolve.
  • Oversee the use of the Guild’s visual identity to ensure consistent and effective use.
  • Provide graphic design advice and support to other Guild stakeholders, including National Council and Branches, as required.
  • Continually monitor and regularly review the graphic design of Guild publications to ensure they achieve communication objectives.

The following work experience and knowledge is required:  

  • Proven graphic designing experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in designing for both digital and print media
  • Graphic design and desktop publishing, with proficiency using the latest versions of Microsoft Office and the Adobe range of computer software, particularly Photoshop andI nDesign.
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.

This position requires skills and competencies in the following areas: 

  • Ability to translate ideas and concepts into visually appealing designs
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
