Are you a creative design professional looking for a dynamic and impactful role? Join the University of Queensland’s Marketing and Communication (M&C) team as a Graphic Designer, where you will contribute to shaping the University’s visual identity through innovative and high-quality design solutions. Under the guidance of the Creative Director and Art Director, you will play an integral role in producing a variety of digital and print materials for a wide range of University clients. Whether it’s campaign collateral, promotional brochures, or digital applications, your designs will support the UQ brand and help communicate its mission both on campus and beyond.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create innovative and high-quality digital and print designs for a variety of University materials, including campaign collateral, promotional brochures, advertisements, signage, and event assets, ensuring alignment with the UQ brand.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Art Director, and Senior Designers to deliver creative solutions and manage the production of both original and template-based designs, meeting client requirements and deadlines.
  • Apply University Brand Guidelines consistently across all design work, ensuring visual standards are upheld and the University’s identity is effectively communicated through all materials.
  • Use project management software (Wrike) to track the progress of design projects, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality final artwork.

About You

  • A degree in graphic design or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects, with the ability to produce both static and animated digital graphics. Desirable: Experience using Figma for digital design and collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of brand identity principles, with the ability to adhere to and apply University Brand Guidelines across various design projects.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end collateral production, from concept development to the creation of printed materials and digital assets.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and demonstrate attention to detail and professionalism in all interactions.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
